MP Ruth Smeeth, Member of Parliament for Stoke-on-Trent North and Kidsgrove visited Anchor’s  Chell Green Court to discuss local issues.

In support of Anchor’s Standing Up 4 Sitting Down campaign, MP Ruth has written to local shopping centres, local authorities and disability charities in the local area to highlight the need for more public seating.

Standing Up 4 Sitting Down (#su4sd) is Anchor’s new national initiative aiming to improve people's access to their local shops and high street by increasing the amount of seating available to those who need it.

Kath Jackson, Manager at Chell Green Court said “Adding more seating is a simple change that will benefit everyone. With more seating and resting areas on offer for those who need them, including older people, visiting local shops need not be such a struggle.

“We are really pleased to have our MP’s support for the campaign and really enjoyed her visit to Chell Green court.”
