Residents from Silver Court care home in East Grinstead will be hosting an event to mark St Patrick’s Day on Friday 17 March at 2pm.

Staff at Anchor’s Silver Court in Halsford Lane will be donning green costumes and the care home will be decked out in Shamrocks and green decorations as part of an activities day to mark Ireland’s patron saint.

The residents will also be enjoying an Irish sing a long /green themed raffle and lots of homemade Irish treats.

Freda Greenhalgh, 88, has lived at  Silver Court care home  for 2 years, said she was really excited about the party.

Other residents are also keen to get involved in the preparations for the day.

Margaret Rand, 94, who has lived at care home 3 years, said: “This will be the first time I’ve celebrated St Patrick’s Day so I’m looking forward to it.

“There’s always lots of interesting and new activities to try here. I really enjoy being out in the garden as I am a sun worshipper, musical events and spending time in the music and sensory room  watching musicals and playing with all the instruments organised by staff.”
