Anchor care homes across England took part in RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, the world’s largest wildlife survey, on 25 and 26 January 2014.
Activity coordinators have worked on bird themed events such as building a bird nest, and making bird masks ahead of the birdwatch weekend. Our residents monitor the wildlife with results sent to RSPB who use them to monitor trends and identify which species of birds are under threat. Samantha Crawley, Head of Community Partnerships said: “The birdwatch is part of our ongoing programme of exciting activities, including Cancer awareness day, Rock it in Red and save the British Bee campaign, which aims to stimulate residents physically and mentally.
“These events are also a great occasion for residents to socialise with their families and friends.”
